The Texas Department of Agriculture held their annual Kickoff Meeting for the 2026 Community Development Block Grants in Corpus Christi at 10:00 a.m. on October 24th at the CBCOG offices.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program primarily aims to support the development of sustainable communities by providing quality housing, enhancing living environments, and fostering economic opportunities, particularly for residents with low to moderate incomes. Eligible applicants for Texas CDBG funding include non-entitlement cities with populations under 50,000 and non-entitlement counties with non-metropolitan populations under 200,000 that are ineligible for direct funding from HUD.
